Carin started has always been involved in people development. It was, however, only when she completed her Master’s degree under difficult personal circumstances, that she discovered the challenges faced by postgraduate students. This inspired the topic of her PhD, namely ‘Non-Traditional Postgraduate Student Success: The Development of an Institutional Framework.’
Carin most recently served as Dean: Teaching and Learning at The Da Vinci Institute, where she was responsible for the training and development of lecturing staff, as well as quality assurance of educational content. Prior to this, she served as Head of Professional Development and Education at CIPS Africa, where she was responsible for the development & delivery of the CIPS professional development and education strategy throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Carin also served as Deputy Director: Secretariat at the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Carin completed her Masters of Public Management with the Regenesys School of Public Management. She then went on to complete her PhD with the Da Vinci Institute. Over the years, she has built up extensive research experience. Additionally, she has supervised and supported numerous students, facilitated research seminars such as ‘Cracking the Literature Review’ and chaired multiple oral defences.
