Get 1-On-1 Help Developing Your Research Topic
Struggling to find or choose a suitable research topic for your dissertation or thesis?
Your dedicated Grad Coach is here to help, every step of the way.
What is this service?
Choosing a good topic for your research is critically important to crafting a quality dissertation or thesis. Pick the wrong topic and you can easily set yourself up for a world of pain. Worst of all, you’ll likely only find out that it was a poor topic choice when its too late to change.
The Grad Coach topic ideation coaching service helps you develop multiple high-quality topic ideas through a systematic, tried and tested process. We work with you on a 1-on-1 basis to develop top-notch topic ideas, and then evaluate these to find the best option for you.
By working with us, you not only ensure a high-quality topic that has the best odds of first-time approval – but you also fast-track the topic ideation process, allowing you to progress through your dissertation or thesis much faster.
Who’s this for?
This service is for you if you’re in one of the following positions:
- You have no topic ideas and no idea where to start.
- You have some vague topic ideas but need someone to help you refine them.
- You have a few well-formed ideas, but need help deciding which one to settle on.
In all of these cases, we will work with you to develop a winning topic. Importantly, you must be prepared to put in the effort and work with us to develop your topic. This is a collaborative process in which we work together.
How does it work?
The best starting point is to book a free consultation with one of our Research Specialists, in which we’ll discuss your current situation. From there, we will advise you if/how we can assist, and propose a plan of action.
Can’t you just give me a topic?
No, we can’t give you a topic (or a list of topics). There are many factors that need to be considered when choosing a topic (for example, your university’s originality and importance requirements, your data access, your timeline, etc.), so there’s no such thing as a universal list of viable topics (despite there being an abundance of them posted online).
How much does it cost?
The amount of billable time varies depending on how developed your current thinking around the topic is. As a guide, we usually spend between 2-3 hours on topic ideation and evaluation. The cost of hours depends on which package you opt for – see pricing here.
